Marginalised in this way, the opportunities for the Chinese to make their voice heard and to exercise their influence is limited.

The National Conference seeks to draw out lessons from the Chinese experience in Britain, and to engage the community in the debate of how the community can raise levels of civic engagement and active citizenship.
